I’m having this odd awareness lately that nothing will ever be as it once was and from here on out everything is going to be different and weird all of the time. Even being here, in my hometown, things are entirely unlike the way that they were when I was here last. It’s so strange to me that you can know people for pretty much ever and then wake up one day and realize that your relationship is nothing like the way that it used to be. And while all that is very fascinating and “let’s do a case study blah blah brains blah blah adaptation/evolution whatever,” it’s also, like, super fucking depressing.
